Christian occultism and magic in general
A site which deals - in a positive light - with the oft-neglected topic of Christian occultism and the esoteric side of Christianity, from a Traditionalist Catholic point of view. This site features copious content on theory and philosophy, rituals, talismans, practices, and even boasts a discussion group and an online copy of the Roman Ritual.

Less a review, more a series of comments.

1. The 5th Council of Nicea which formed the corpus of the Bible did so through the use of an occult ritual called the "Sortes Sanctorum". This same practice was later outlawed by the Catholic Church int he 13th Century.

2. It is no mistake that Christmas falls on the Solstice, as it was originally the holiest day for the cults of Mithras and Sol Invictus in the late Roman Empire, and the Saturnalia in the time before that. When Emperor Constantine converted to Christianity he had other Roman cult priesthoods convert as well, and turned Pantheonic temples into Christian ones. Much of the System of Solar and Celestial worship has stayed heavily encoded in present rituals.

3. St. Augustine was a Neoplatonist magician before his conversion to Christianity. The main purpose of his writings was to discredit Arian Christianity in favor of the emergent Catholic doctrine which was newer and not particularly consistent with Jesus' teachings by comparison.

4. The mitre of bishops is derived from the headgear of Priests of the Phonecian Fish Deity Dagon.

5. The sacred heart of Jesus derives from Aztec worship. In an effort to convert the Aztecs, the missionaries explained that Jesus gave his holy heart in sacrifice so that nobody else would have to. As the Aztecs believed that the sacrifice of human hearts kept the Sun alight, this placated and converted them. Soon thereafter the Sacred Heart became widely used in Catholic symbolism. Tezcatlipoca laughed a lot.

6. It may be an idea to look into what is known as "green language" on the topic of Christian Occultism.
