Macedonian Philately On September 8th, 1991, honoring the Referendum for Independence of the Republic of Macedonia, the Macedonian Postal Service issued the first Macedonian postal stamp. The stamp, featuring Macedonian national instrument players, was at first only an additional stamp to the regular stamps of Yugoslavia, and was not to be used as a regular stamp.
