Rick Ross is a consultant who represents himself as an "expert" in the field of cults and religions. He actually is a convicted felon with no college degree or training in the field.
Rick Ross has a business as a consultant and it requires that he create controversy where there is none. His database of information includes articles on so called dangerous groups, cults and individuals such as the Amish, Oprah Winfrey and John Gray.
Like Fox News where he has appeared as a so called expert, Rick Ross knows that it is sensation not necessarily the truth that gets attention.
Rick Ross has been in numerous disagreements with the other "experts" in his field over the years resulting in the most influential among them openly disavowing him. Also according to a US Department of Justice Report, Rick Rossâs unsolicited advice and opportunistic television interviews was considered to have been an impediment to negotiations during the failed negotiations during the Branch Davidian standoff that resulted in the deaths of 76 people including 21 children. http://www.usdoj.gov/05publications/waco/wacofour.html
