So why are FTP sites, gopher, newgroups, telnet, and WAIS gateways overshadowed by the Web Because they are difficult to navigate and lack the flash and "multi-media" that new users to the Internet are coming to expect. Ironically, the bulk of information and resources contained on the Internet are held within these seldom-visited areas.
