The "Nuts and Bolts" of Taxonomy and Classification
A Miami University lab exercise (used in evolution and paleontology courses) which illustrates the creativity involved in taxonomy and the roles form and function, ancestral traits and derived characters play in generating classification schemes. It can also serve as an introduction to topics in evolution and paleontology.
