Malin Space Science Systems
Malin Space Science Systems (MSSS) was established in 1990 to design, develop, and operate instruments to fly on unmanned and manned spacecraft. Its initial focus was on the development and operation of the Mars Observer Camera Ground Data System, and Mars Observer recovery efforts (which follow the loss of the spacecraft in August 1993) constitute a significant proportion of the continuing effort at MSSS.
