Fifteen companies, including representatives of some of Europe's largest pharmaceutical industries, have formed the Structural Biology Industrial Platform to work with each other, the European Commission and Research Centres in Europe to promote structural biology research, training and development.

The Theoretical Biophysics Group studies the structure and function of biopolymers and biopolymer aggregates by theoretical and computational means. Researchers focus on molecular dynamics and quantum chemistry applications in collaboration with experimental laboratories.
